TasFire Training Chief Warden Training Course

CHIEF WARDEN TRAINING COURSE – NORTH WEST REGION

This course is designed for people who are assigned the responsibility as the Chief Warden (and their deputies) in their workplace. The course is structured in accordance with Australian Standards: Planning for emergencies in facilities (AS 3745), Planning for Emergencies – Health Care Facilities (AS 4083) and the General Fire Regulations (where applicable).

Participants are exposed to relevant information for their role as a Chief Warden. This information supports the implementation of emergency procedures, staff training requirements and the roles and responsibilities of the Chief Warden in the event of an emergency that may warrant an evacuation. Successful participants will receive a Statement of Completion accredited by the Tasmania Fire Service.

COURSE CONTENT

The Chief Warden’s role and responsibilities
The acts and regulations relating to the Emergency Control Organisation
The management of the evacuation
Responding to different emergencies
Liaising with emergency services
Strategies in emergency prevention management
Communication systems
Recovery planning

COURSE PREREQUISITE

There are no pre-requisites for undertaking this course. However it is recommended that participants have either previously undertaken warden training or possess a strong understanding of the role of a warden in the workplace.

COURSE COST

The course duration is one day and the fee is $410 (GST inclusive) per participant.

COURSE VENUE

This course is conducted at 15 Three Mile Line Rd Burnie or Ulverstone Fire Station (venue confirmed prior to training); we also conduct courses in Launceston and Hobart. Alternatively by arrangement courses can be conducted in your workplace where appropriate facilities can be provided.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are currently planning our return to training as we enter the stage 3 recovery phase in line with current advice and reasonable community expectations. Tasmania Fire Service facilities will meet the Worksafe WHS standards including;

In addition, we require all course participants who are feeling unwell to not attend the scheduled course and we will be asking that participants declare that as far as possible that they are of good health. Our standard cancellation policy will be relaxed during this period in the interests of maintaining health and safety to cater for any participant health concerns.

We will contact all clients who have been subject to COVID19 cancellations to offer a course place. Our course schedule is now online, and we are taking bookings for those dates via the website or through direct contact.
