FIRE SAFETY & EXTINGUISHER COURSE – NORTH REGION

This course is designed for personnel in all workplaces. The skills and knowledge gained through this course can be applied in a range of settings including the home and will assist in maintaining a safer workplace.

Upon completion of this course participants will have an understanding and increased awareness of fire prevention and initial response in the event of a fire through the implementation of emergency quick action guides. The units of competence are Develop workplace fire safety awareness and Operate workplace portable firefighting equipment.

COURSE CONTENT

How to prevent fires in the workplace
What to do if a fire occurs in your workplace
Safe use of portable firefighting equipment
Practical experience in extinguishing live fires

COURSE COST

The course duration is 2.5 hours and the fee is $200 (GST inclusive) per participant up to a maximum of 15 participants with a minimum course fee of $2,000 where the course is scheduled specifically for your organisation. If you have larger groups that require training contact our regional consultants for course scheduling and prices.

COURSE VENUE

This course is conducted at 339 Hobart Rd Youngtown (near Launceston); we also conduct courses in Burnie and Hobart. Alternatively by arrangement courses can be conducted in your workplace where appropriate facilities can be provided.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are currently planning our return to training as we enter the stage 3 recovery phase in line with current advice and reasonable community expectations. Tasmania Fire Service facilities will meet the Worksafe WHS standards including;

In addition, we require all course participants who are feeling unwell to not attend the scheduled course and we will be asking that participants declare that as far as possible that they are of good health. Our standard cancellation policy will be relaxed during this period in the interests of maintaining health and safety to cater for any participant health concerns.

We will contact all clients who have been subject to COVID19 cancellations to offer a course place. Our course schedule is now online, and we are taking bookings for those dates via the website or through direct contact.
